In the summer time we gather for a Montreal United Church and Neighbouring Cursillo Community Family Camping Weekend, where friends are always welcome. The last several camping weekends were held at the Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground, located between Morrisburg and Cornwall, Ontario. You would love this campground. The beach is right there as well as a big playing field for soccer, baseball, football or any other sport. The park for the little ones is also close by and the facilities are very clean.

We just had our Cursillo camp weekend west of Cornwall on July 25 and 26, 2009 at the Long Sault Parkway - McLaren Campground. About 25 people attended and had a great time.

Each family made their own reservation. They reserved their site as early as possible, because the sites go like hotcakes, by calling one of the following numbers: 1-800-437-2233 or 1-613-543-4328.

We again camped at Long Sault Parkway. Parkway signs and park symbols direct you from exit 770 off highway 401, to the McLaren site.

It is an awesome area. Please reserve your campsite in the following order:
73, 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, 79, 64, 65, 66, 67, 68, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47.

When you call in you will be told if the number you chose has been taken. These campsites are close to the beach, park area for kids, the washroom facilities and all amenities. If you can't make it for the whole weekend, please let Lisa Byer-de Wever know if you will be joining us on Saturday for the day or Sunday morning.

Hope to see you out there for this amazing weekend of community, fun, fellowship, music and lots of food!

In 2008 our camping weekend was held Friday July 4 to Sunday July 6. There were about 30 poeple. Some stayed for the weekend, others overnight, or some just the day. There was a wonderful sing-song on Saturday night under the stars and with … of course SMORES (yum-yum). Sunday we had a small worship service to give thanks for the great weekend and many other Blessings, and spent the rest of the day on the beach. It was a wonderful time for all! Again it was an amazing weekend of community, fun, fellowship, music and lots of food!

Our 2007 family camping weekend was held Saturday July 21 and Sunday July 22, 2007. The weather was beautiful, after the pouring rain on Friday (that's why we started the camping only on Saturday, not on Friday as we did in previous years). Twelve families came out for this wonderful weekend. While most were there both days, some dropped in for one day only. In 2006 our camping weekend was held July 14-16, 2006; the one before that July 29-31, 2005.
